A psychologist conducts an experiment to investigate how sleep duration affects cognitive performance and mood. Participants are randomly assigned to one of three groups: 4 hours, 7 hours, or 9 hours of sleep ('Sleep Group'). The next day, the researcher measures their reaction time in milliseconds on a task ('Reaction Time'), their self-reported alertness on a scale from 1 to 10 ('Alertness'), and records their age in years ('Age'). Match each variable from this study with the correct description of its role in single-variable preliminary analysis.
