A Subtype of Metacognition: Metamemory

Metamemory refers to the introspective awareness, declarative knowledge, perceptions, beliefs, estimations, and assessments about the capacity, operation, functioning, and development of one's memory. Metamemory also involves the capability to exercise control and monitor memory performance.
