According to the DSM-5 there are five sexual disorder categories, sexual desire disorders, sexual arousal disorders, orgasm disorders, sexual pain disorders, and Other sexual disorders.

As you can see above in Table 1 - According to the DSM-5 there are five sexual disorder categories, sexual desire disorders, sexual arousal disorders, orgasm disorders, sexual pain disorders, and Other sexual disorders. Notice each type has its own description of symptoms and its disorder name as given in the DSM-5. The DSM is where the sexual reproductive systems of MALE and FEMALE distinguish what type of organ system the patient’s sexual disorder applies to. Some of the disorders are not gender specific, but they all must fit the Syndrome, Symptom and Disorder Types as well as the Subtypes as seen on Table 2 (APA, 2020). Subtypes are essentially, timestamps of the onset and context of time for the patient’s sexual dysfunctions. Onsets are either lifelong or acquired. We would ask the patient if they have had the sexual problem their whole life or at least from first sexual encounter, or did they function well before and now it has become distressing. Context is either generalized or situational. In generalized sexual dysfunctions the symptoms are not limited to stimulation, situation, or partner. In situational, it is limited within to parameters.
