The study was left unsure about the availability of health services impact on the racial disparities due to the higher emphasis on the county the mother gives birth in. It advised future studies to look into further if this does have an impact.

The study found the high correlation between adverse birth outcomes and racial prejudice for Black mothers in the county they gave birth in rather than the county they live in. The strength of this correlation is high with the birth county having four times greater adverse birth outcomes.

The study found that the racial disparities in maternal and fetal health outcomes was significantly greater in counties that had higher levels of racial prejudice, with white mothers actually having low rates of adverse health outcomes in these counties. The disparity is 26 percent larger in counties with higher levels of racial prejudice compared to lower ones.
