- Age was a barrier for a minority of persons, mostly related to being too young to pursue care without parental permission.
- In addition, some persons felt that they had to undergo more extensive screening prior to obtaining care because of their age and reported being told they were too young to make medical decisions for themselves, even though they were legally of age.

- For most individuals, this meant having other health complications that may interfere with gender affirming care, such as medication interactions. 
- Other participants mentioned conditions that should not interfere with care being used against them, such as being in a wheelchair.
