Alcohol use is a top contributor to preventable morbidity and mortality among adolescents. Despite their medical vulnerability, youth with chronic medical conditions drink alcohol at levels in proportion with their healthy peers. By young adulthood, they experience disproportionate rates of heavy and problem drinking.
