Short Answer

Analyzing a Strategic Interaction

Two software engineers, partnering on a project, must choose to use the same programming language: either Java or C++. Both languages are equally suitable for the project, and both engineers agree that coordinating on one language is far better than failing to agree. However, one engineer is more proficient in Java and will earn more if they both use Java. The other is more proficient in C++ and will earn more if they both use C++.

In your own words, explain why this situation represents both a coordination problem and a conflict of interest.
