Short Answer

Analyzing Attention Mechanism Constraints

A language model is tasked with translating a complete sentence from one language to another. A second model is tasked with generating a story, one word at a time. The attention mechanism in the story-generation model must be constrained to only process information from earlier in the sequence for any given word. Analyze why this same constraint would be detrimental to the performance of the sentence-translation model.
