Apprentice Registration Must Stay Active During Training

In many states, an electrical apprentice must remain properly registered with the state agency for the entire apprenticeship period. The apprentice should not begin field duties before the registration is active, and the registration must stay current until training is complete. If the registration expires or is missing during any part of the program, those work periods may not count toward graduation requirements, and the apprentice can lose eligibility for benefits such as a waiver for a later licensing exam.
