Concept
Asians vs. White Americans & Mental Health Stigma (Analysis)
The study suggests that addressing these issues through culturally sensitive mental health promotion and clinical practices could improve help-seeking behaviors. Furthermore, in another study where Chinese parents are observed, it is shown how certain mental health illnesses are seen as something that isn’t really a big deal, and how resources aren’t in reach of these immigrant communities. These two studies show the difference in mental health stigma between white and asian/immigrant communities.
