EmotAsS(Emotional Sensitivity Assistance System for People with Disabilities) is a new technology that recognises emotional speech from mentally and physically disabled individuals. The purpose of the technology is to enhance communication skills that will benefit disabled individuals in stressful situations such as their workplace. The EmotAsS technology was tested using disabled individuals’ emotional response to different tasks, which include showing catastrophic images, picture books, specific topics about favourite travel destination, music genre, or sports activity. After the experiment, the EmotAsS was proven ineffective in recognising emotion because there was a low accuracy rate in identifying emotions accurately.
