Benefits of Mentoring for the Protégé

Research indicates that employees who are mentored, known as protégés, experience several positive career and job-related outcomes. Compared to their non-mentored peers, protégés tend to receive higher compensation and more promotions. They also report greater satisfaction with both their jobs and their overall careers. Furthermore, mentoring is positively correlated with higher performance ratings from supervisors.
