Inflammatory markers present in the serum were measured to determine the progression of the disease and provide diagnostic, molecular indicators of MIS-C. Heightened expression of specific inflammatory markers was observed, these included: 
- C-reactive protein
- Ferritin
- Interleukin-6


Inflammatory Markers

Lymphocytopenia was common throughout cases, although white blood cell count was frequently increased. Most MIS-C patients presented with normal to slightly lower than normal platelet thrombocytes. 

Blood Cell Count

Coagulation biomarkers were upregulated, which included D-dimers and fibrinogen. Additionally, myocardial injury markers were also abnormally increased.
