Borrelia burgdorferi
Borrelia burgdorferi is a pathogenic spirochete species that causes Lyme disease. It is transmitted to humans by tick vectors from the genera Ixodes and Amblyomma, and infection often produces a 'bull's eye' rash, fever, fatigue, and sometimes debilitating arthritis.
