Bright Light Therapy

An effective treatment method for SAD (seasonal affective disorder). A research study by Rosenthal et al. found that exposing patients to a bright white light of 2,500 lux for 6 hours led to a decrease in depressive symptoms overall. Thus, for participants who experience depression in the winter, mimicking the daylight proves to be an effective treatment method.
