Short Answer

Calculating Feasible Consumption

A tenant farmer's production possibilities are such that if she works for 8 hours a day (leaving 16 hours of free time), she can produce 9 bushels of grain. She has signed a contract that requires her to pay a fixed amount of 4 bushels of grain as rent to the landowner, regardless of her total output. If she chooses this option of working 8 hours a day, how many bushels of grain will she be able to consume? Explain your reasoning.
