Can Twitter increase the visibility of Chinese publications? within-journal comparison results
- Publications in which Chinese authors contributed the most generally did not receive as much attention on Twitter compared to papers that were written by Chinese and non-Chinese scholars
- The citation rate of tweeted publications was approximately 50% higher than non-tweeted papers in each of the three groups
- Geometric means indicated that publications that were tweeted received 15% more citations than papers that were not tweeted
