The largest benefits of taking a CTE concentration (>=4 credits of an occupationally specific course selection) were most apparent in the first few years after graduating high school. These benefits include a higher likelihood of finding competitive full time employment, high wages, and greater employee benefits.

Largest Benefits of Career and Techincal Education Course Concentrations

NLTS2 results found that just taking CTE courses did not have a significant effect on finding full time employment. Taking a concentration of CTE courses did raise the likelihood of finding full time employment within 2 years of graduating high school.
