- Participants were selected if they presented with any malignancy or were diagnosed with cancer before
- The participants had COVID-19 
- The study lasted for a month upon diagnosis of COVID-19
- The study aimed at determining the mortality rate in these patients
- 13% of the patients died
- Those from the Northeast and Midwest parts of US and those from Canada had lower mortality cases
- Cancer type, race, and whether or not the patient was obese did not have an impact on the mortality rate
- Mortality was high for patients with COVID-19 and cancer, and there was an association with age and other general risk factors
- Hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin (cancer drugs) were also given to patients, but their benefits or harms in relation to COVID-19 are unknown
