Ceci and Brucks (1993, 1995) Study on Child Suggestibility

To illustrate the potential for memory distortion in children, a study by Stephen Ceci and Maggie Brucks involved asking three-year-olds to use anatomically correct dolls to indicate where their pediatrician had touched them during an exam. The results showed that 55% of the children pointed to the genital or anal areas on the dolls, despite not having received any form of genital examination, demonstrating their high susceptibility to suggestion.
