Cellular Consolidation

- Second level of memory consolidation
- The gradual process of moving memory consolidation from the hippocampus into the cortex
- Known as the reorganization of memories through time

Systems Consolidaiton


- The process of consolidation that memories need to be stabilized in order to be recalled again
- Considered to occur after systems and cellular consolidation for recall
-  The idea is that memories can be further consolidated through changes and modifications  
- This process is fairly controversial, as little research has been done on it
