Formula

Celsius to Fahrenheit Temperature Conversion

To convert a temperature from degrees Celsius (°C) to degrees Fahrenheit (°F), use the formula:

F=95C+32F = \frac{9}{5}C + 32

This formula reverses the Fahrenheit-to-Celsius conversion. Multiplying the Celsius value by 95\frac{9}{5} scales it to match the size of Fahrenheit degrees (since each Celsius degree spans 95\frac{9}{5} Fahrenheit degrees), and adding 3232 shifts the result to account for the difference in zero points between the two scales. For example, to convert 37°C37°\text{C} (normal human body temperature): F=95(37)+32=66.6+32=98.6F = \frac{9}{5}(37) + 32 = 66.6 + 32 = 98.6, giving 98.6°F98.6°\text{F}.
