Climate Change and Mental Health Disorders
As climate change continues to expand its role in global health policy, it must be considered how the impacts of climate change affect the mental health of people living in affected zones. Climate change will result in more adverse weather events, natural disasters, hardships for people depending on natural resources, and shifting seasonal patterns. All of these events can cause anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other mental health problems in affected individuals.
