Clinical Characteristics and Outcomes of Older Patients with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Wuhan, China

This study took place in Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University from January 1, 2020, to February 10, 2020. The median age of the 203 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 was 54 years. Among patients who were 65 years old or older, the mortality rate was 34.5 % (19/55). In younger patients in the same study, the mortality rate was 4.7% (7/148). The most common symptoms of older COVID-19 patients were fever, dry cough, and chest distress. Compared to younger COVID-19 patients, older patients had more laboratory abnormalities and comorbidities.
