Frustration Over Immediate Rejection of Non-COVID-19 Papers
During the COVID-19 pandemic, some researchers expressed frustration that high-impact medical journals were desk-rejecting non-COVID-19 related research papers almost immediately after submission. This rapid rejection rate led to concerns that non-COVID-19 research was not being thoroughly evaluated due to the overwhelming focus on pandemic-related submissions.
