Community Based Rehabilitation History
- Developed from the United Nations' initiatives in early 1970's to address disabilities at the community level. It has been described as a strategy within general community development for rehabilitation, equalization of opportunities, and social inclusion for adults and children with disabilities. It is implemented through the combined efforts of people with disabilities, their families and communities, and relevant health, education, and vocational services
