Despite decreasing like the other ED symptoms, concern over size and shape of body was still higher at the end of treatment than other eating disorder symptoms.

The eating disorder ERP plan also helps patients with their perceptions of their bodies. This involves exposing them to parts of their body that they're insecure about and helping them to resist compensatory behaviors. For example, therapists could have a patient stare at themselves in the mirror and challenge them to resist the urge to restrict their food or partake in excessive exercise.
