Comorbidity of Eating Disorders and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders: Connection Between Personality Traits and Symptoms

Shared personality traits can also be linked to the symptoms of both disorders. For example, checking and cleaning symptoms (OCD) and restricting and binging (eating disorders) have both been associated with neuroticism and perfectionism. Furthermore, conscientiousness is correlated with the body dissatisfaction seen in those with eating disorders as well as the obsessions and compulsions of OCD.
