Comparing Production Possibilities

Two farmers, Maria and David, can grow either potatoes or carrots on their land. Maria can produce a maximum of 100 kg of potatoes or 50 kg of carrots, or any linear combination in between. David can produce a maximum of 80 kg of potatoes or 60 kg of carrots, or any linear combination in between. An agricultural analyst claims that David is in a better overall production position than Maria. Evaluate this claim. In your answer, justify your position by comparing the production possibilities and trade-offs each farmer faces.
