Comparison of Mitosis and Binary Fission

While both mitosis and binary fission are asexual reproduction processes that yield clonal daughter cells, they differ significantly. Most prokaryotes undergo binary fission with a single chromosome, whereas eukaryotic mitosis is more complex, requiring the replication and precise segregation of multiple chromosomes.
