Short Answer

Competitive Wage Adjustment

A local hospital has successfully been hiring its target of 10 new nurses per month by offering a wage of €30 per hour. A new, larger hospital opens in the same city and also begins hiring nurses. Assuming the local hospital wants to maintain its hiring target of 10 nurses per month, explain why its original wage of €30 per hour may no longer be sufficient and what adjustment it will likely need to make. Justify your answer based on the relationship between wage offers and the applicant pool.
