Playful work design consists of two designs which are fun and competition. A fun work environment gives employees a sense of involvement and a competitive environment gives employees a chance to create goals and achieve tasks as they get more challenging.

Examples of Playful Work Design 

Playful work design is needed because it gives employees a sense of independence of their own tasks and the sense that employees are part of something that is important and by making the play challenging it also gives employees goals of reaching their accomplishments.
