This concept explores Jami's exposition of the 'secret of destiny' (sirr al-qadar) in Section 53 of his Haft Awrang. Jami presents a profound mystical-theological paradox: while human beings are externally commanded to act with free will ('گرچه تو ز اختیار مأموری'), they are ultimately compelled within that very capacity of choice ('لیک در اختیار مجبوری'). Jami describes the human form as a passive vessel ('قالبی ز اختیار خود عاری') through which Divine actions flow. Thus, any action resulting from human choice is actually the manifestation of Divine decree, leading either to proximity and pleasure ('قرب رضوان') or distance and abandonment ('بعد و خذلان'). This concept explains the traditional Islamic theological tension between free will (ikhtiyar) and predestination (jabr), reframed through Sufi metaphysics.
