Coordination Failure

A coordination failure occurs when a group of individuals, who would all benefit from a cooperative or synchronized action, are unable to coordinate their behavior to achieve that mutually beneficial outcome. This often happens in situations where each person's optimal action depends on their expectations of what others will do, leading them to get stuck in a Pareto-inferior equilibrium.
