Coping strategies in adults with ASD
Adults with ASD experience anxiety and stress at greater levels when adjusting to change and enduring unpleasant events. This has been shown to contribute to negative outcomes such as poor quality of life, distress, and difficulties living independently. Limited access to mental health services for ASD-diagnosed adults as opposed to ASD-diagnosed children are suggested to be contributing factors to such outcomes.
