Three Fundamental Economic Questions

Due to resource scarcity, every society must address three fundamental economic questions: 1) What goods and services should be produced? 2) How should these goods and services be produced? 3) For whom should these goods and services be produced? The manner in which a society answers these questions forms the basis of its economic system.
