One criticism of political history is that since political history is one of the oldest historical approaches, it has nothing new to offer in comparison to more up-to-date approaches.

This criticism of political history is that it only focuses on the experiences of specific groups of people. Most of the population, including women and children, were excluded from politics. Political history ignores other aspects of life that are uninvolved in politics. 

Criticism: Political History Does Not Cover the Entire Human Experience

Political history does not use quantitative statistics or graphs that can be found in social or economic history. Without factual evidence from numerical data, political history is open to bias.
