Critiquing an Interpretation of Economic Division

An economics commentator makes the following claim: 'In a model where a farmer's output is shared with a landowner, the landowner's share is represented by the vertical distance between the feasible production frontier and the farmer's indifference curve. To maximize their own share, the landowner should simply find the point where this vertical distance is greatest.'
