Cultural Applicability of Authoritative Parenting

While the authoritative parenting style is highly encouraged in modern American society and is associated with high self-esteem and strong social skills in American children, its effectiveness varies by culture. The authoritative approach is not necessarily preferred or appropriate in all cultural contexts, demonstrating that the impact of parenting styles is culturally dependent (Small, 1999).
