Cultural Trends of Implicit Theories of Self
When looking at implicit theories of self across multiple cultures there are some trends that appear. This seems to be related to a populations' belief of self-construal, or how individuals view themselves in relation to others.
People that have an interdependent self-construal tend to be more commonly follow an incremental theory of self. This tends to be more common in Asian cultures
People that have an independent self-construal tend to be more commonly follow an entity theory of self. This tends to be more common in North American cultures.
