Epidemiologic, demographic, contact and exposure history, clinical presentations, chest CT, laboratory tests, treatment and outcome data were collected from inpatient medical records.

Laboratory data collected for each patient included:

• complete blood count
• coagulation profile
• serum biochemical tests (including renal and liver function, electrolytes, lactate dehydrogenase and creatine kinase)
• serum ferritin
• biomarkers of infection

Chest CT scans were done for all inpatients.
