The International Classification of Disease (ICD) is a global database of knowledge relating to the extents, causes, and consequences of disease that is compiled by the World Health Organization (WHO) utilizing reported statistics and data from across the world. The ICD exists as the standard for comparable statistics related to the causes of mortality and morbidity across both place and time.
