The Pay-off from Working Diagram

This diagram illustrates the total payoff for an employee who chooses to work diligently. It plots time, measured in weeks, on the horizontal axis against wage levels on the vertical axis. The employee's net weekly payoff is shown as the wage minus the cost of effort (w - c), a value that is higher than their reservation wage (w_res). The total payoff over the entire working period of h weeks is calculated by multiplying this net weekly payoff by the number of weeks: (w - c) * h.
