Williams-Muhammed is a Black woman with multiple sclerosis and sarcoidosis. Williams-Muhammed served on the NBWHP. Williams-Muhammed credits her ability to get out of a nursing home where she was being overmedicated and neglected to the self-help skills, knowledge, and support network she gained through the NBWHP.
