Social Security denied applicants are those who haven't received income support from the SS disability program but have gone through the application process.

Approved applicants receive cash SS or SSI benefits, low/no cost health insurance (Medicare/Medicaid), and free employment support through the Ticket to Work Program if they choose to return to work. Denied applicants are not targeted for federal support, but testing is being done. They may also qualify for employment support through Vocational Rehab systems pr through other means-tested programs such as food stamps.
