Design Complexity and Risks of Inaccurate Step-Level Verifiers

Creating an effective step-level verifier is a non-trivial engineering task. A significant risk is that an inaccurate verifier can negatively guide the search process by either discarding valid lines of reasoning prematurely or failing to detect and prune flawed paths, thereby leading the model toward an incorrect solution.
