Short Answer

Determining Specialization for Mutual Gain

Imagine two producers, Producer A and Producer B, who can both produce grain and fruit. In one year, Producer A can produce a maximum of 100 tons of grain OR 500 baskets of fruit. In the same year, Producer B can produce a maximum of 80 tons of grain OR 240 baskets of fruit. To maximize their combined output through trade, explain which producer should specialize in which product. Justify your answer by comparing the production trade-offs each producer faces.
