While in a relevant situation or while doing a relevant activity, participants must log information immediately. Because of the in-situ nature of this technique, best to use email, web-form questionnaires, or audio/video diaries.

This is a 2 step process: as relevant situation occurs, participants only have to log a short snippet of information and then later in the day they add more details. You can uses channels such as: email, text message, or Twitter.
