Difference of Squares

A difference of squares is a binomial expression of the form a2b2a^2 - b^2. It is the algebraic result of multiplying a conjugate pair, such as (ab)(a+b)(a - b)(a + b). When the two binomials are multiplied, the inner and outer terms are opposites that combine to 00, leaving only the square of the first term minus the square of the last term.
