Differences in Inflatable Strap vs Manual Strap on the AHMPS

Children were randomly assigned either the AHMPS with a manual static strap or a new inflatable version that provided deep pressure to a larger contact area. While both seats helped with conduct problems and impulsive-hyperactive behaviors, the inflatable seat showed significantly higher improvement in conduct problems and the manual strap didn't show the same reduction in emotional stress as the inflatable seat. These differences are most likely explained by the fact that the inflatable seat provides pressure from all directions and a larger contact area leads to larger benefits.
